(Sept. 14, 2026) – Rising Asian American country artist Bella Lam’s official music video for her single, “Bootfirst,” has been added to the CMT Equal Play playlist (for weeks 9/14 - 9/21) as the song continues to climb the Country radio charts, marking another significant milestone in the independent artist’s rapidly expanding career. The CMT Equal Play addition follows the music video’s placement in rotation on American Country Network (ACN) and the Heartland Network, along with Lam’s recent recognition with three nominations at the 2026 Josie Music Awards.
“Bootfirst” was co-written by Lam with acclaimed Nashville songwriters Jessica Cayne and Kayliann Lowe, produced by Lowell Reynolds and recorded at Nashville’s Blackbird Studio.
The “Bootfirst” music video turns the song’s fearless message into a playful coming-of-age story, following an unlikely outsider as she sheds her inhibitions and steps into her confidence at an unforgettable summer pool party. Blending comedy, high-energy visuals and carefree summer fun, the video captures the spirit of taking a chance, embracing the unexpected and jumping into life “bootfirst.”

The Nashville-born, West Tennessee-raised multi-instrumentalist has continued to build momentum independently, growing her audience to nearly 95,000 followers across social media while performing more than 100 shows annually throughout the Southeast. Her growing industry profile includes being named one of Holler’s “10 Artists You Need To Know”, along with coverage from Ones To Watch, Cowgirl Magazine, Country Central, PARADE, Women Of Country, Entertainment Focus, Countrytown and more.
Lam has performed at CMA Fest, Bluebird Cafe, and The Listening Room Cafe and shared the stage with artists including Candi Jenkins, Daniel Donato, and Strung Like A Horse.
