The release arrives as “Bootfirst” continues to gain momentum at Country radio, with 32 station adds to date, including early support from KFAV-FM (Warrenton, MO) and WOOZ-FM (Harrisburg, IL). The performance video also follows the launch of the song’s official line dance, choreographed by line-dance creator Madi.Marie K.

Co-written by Lam with acclaimed Nashville songwriters Jessica Cayne and Kayliann Lowe, “Bootfirst” is an upbeat country anthem about embracing life’s biggest opportunities and diving into them ‘bootfirst.’ The track combines driving country instrumentation with Lam’s energetic performance style and distinctive storytelling.

“Blackbird was the perfect place to record ‘Bootfirst’—not only because of the incredible records made in those rooms, many of which I grew up listening to, and the incredible collection of vintage gear and instruments, but also because of the unmatched sound of the studio,” said Lam.

“Lowell Reynolds, who produced ‘Bootfirst,’ also mixed my first two singles, ‘Try Harder’ and ‘Move On,’ back in 2021, when I was still figuring out my voice as an artist. This time, I was coming back to Blackbird with a much clearer sense of who I am, and that felt like a really full-circle moment.”

“Bella has been an absolute treat to work with. I keep playing her songs for my friends and family, and we all agree — she’s fantastic. Songwriting - check, singing - check, and complete package - double check,” added Reynolds.
