“Sometimes collaborations happen when you need them most, or under the most unusual circumstances. That’s what happened here…” - Substream

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Friday, August 14th, 2020) - Filipino-American pop artist Andrew Plan and Country singer/songwriter Kristine Wriding are releasing collaboration track "People Needing People (feat. Kristine Wriding)” today, ahead of World Humanitarian Day. The artists co-wrote the song remotely through Skype and Google Hangouts as an anthem of hope and unity and an antidote to hate and division. Substream Magazine exclusively premiered the song, sharing the inspirational message that regardless of what age, race, background, disability or walk of life, we are all people needing peopleSubstream added, “Sometimes collaborations happen when you need them most, or under the most unusual circumstances. That’s what happened here…” Listen to “People Needing People (feat. Kristine Wriding),” here: https://lnkfi.re/people-needing-people.

“People Needing People (feat. Kristine Wriding)” is being released independently and has already been featured by Substream, Cut It Out Magazine, NY Country Swag, Celeb Secrets and more. Wriding and Plan are also set to appear on nationally-syndicated radio “The Sam Alex Show” brought to you by Sun Broadcast Group on August 20th. *Check local listings for broadcast times. Plan and Wriding first met during an online songwriting course in 2016 and have been collaborating for four years. To date, they have yet to meet in person.

“The song started out as an idea of mine, said Wriding. I was really frustrated with how some people viewed others they didn’t understand. This idea especially hit close to home for me and for Andrew, because we both have loved ones with autism, and have experienced this misunderstanding first hand. There are so many opportunities in the world to be a light in the darkness, and the more that Andrew and I talked about this, the more we saw the need to inspire more unity and more understanding in the world.”

Plan added, “I saw people I care about, people I respect, wall off their hearts to the experiences and struggles of other people, just because of an opinion or something they heard on the news. When the coronavirus took hold of the world and the divisions among people started to spike, both Kristine and I saw that the need for unity was greater than ever. It’s our hope that releasing this song now, will help create awareness and inspire others to see each other and the world for how beautiful it can be, and to lift each other up.”

“People Needing People (feat. Kristine Wriding)” is being released ahead of World Humanitarian Day as a tribute to those who have committed their lives to helping others in extreme circumstances and in this time of uncertainty as the world continues to combat Covid-19.
